We are a community-based organization focused on allowing Brighton registered voters to sign a petition forcing a VOTE TO DECIDE if the Town of Brighton should convey/abandon public recreation land to help build the oversized Whole Foods/Amazon /20 Retail Store Plaza. The VOTE TO DECIDE will allow the residents of Brighton to decide if the Town's approach of giving Incentive Zoning, Special tax breaks and creating increased traffic congestion to Monroe Avenue is what WE want. WE CAN DECIDE if WE want OUR public recreation land conveyed to allow for the oversized Plaza - putting a STOP to the Town's misguided plan.
Using the Incentive Zoning 'loophole', the Town officials are allowing 3 acres of RESIDENTIAL land to be added to the 7 acres of Commerical land therefore approving the OVERSIZED Plaza. Do WE really want a Whole Foods/Amazon store, Starbuck's Drive-Thru, a strip plaza with 16-18 Speciality Retailers and potentially 2-3 other restaurants PLUS all the Traffic congestion?
WE SAY " Let the Brighton residents 'VOTE TO DECIDE'!
If the referendum is successful in defeating the conveyance, the developer can build a beautiful Plaza adhering to Town Zoning Code.
Let's MINIMIZE the increased Traffic on Monroe Avenue - NOT maximize the traffic & congestion!!
You can help us by:

2) Make a contribution of $20.00, $50.00, $100.00 or more to fund our Ballot Initiative. The funds go to offset our legal and marketing costs.
3) ASK a friend or neighbor in Brighton to support!
To convey or abandon public land the Town must legally pass a resolution. The Town of Brighton Board & Supervisor have decided to convey/abandon the Auburn Trail without a resolution which allows the developer to build an oversized HUGE PLAZA combining Commerical and Residential land! NY LAW says this CAN NOT BE DONE as the Town is doing! When about 1,000 registered Brighton Voters sign a Permissive Referendum petition that is brought to the Town, a Public Vote must be held within 60-75 days! So BGR Referendum Committee is getting prepared to VOTE TO DECIDE !
We are dedicated to bringing
the PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM to a VOTE!
It is the American Way!
VOTE TO DECIDE
on the size
of the Whole Foods/Amazon Plaza!
